Core business in 2024-2027

Our core business is providing a family support program that includes practical support, connection, education, advice, and guidance. This program is the central pillar of Olivia’s Place and a unique feature of our service.

Our material aid program complements this support by helping to reduce financial stress for families accessing our services.

Together, these programs help reduce risk factors associated with adverse perinatal mental health outcomes and family violence.

Key areas of focus

When looking at where we want to be at the end of 2022, the Olivia’s Place board considered six key areas of focus. These are:

1. Programs and services

Engage and support families during pregnancy and early parenting through a strong “village” model of care. Through targeted partnerships, advocate to local and state governments to address identified gaps in maternal and child health services.

2. Sustainability & Growth

Achieve financial resilience to support long-term sustainability and operational continuity. Diversify income streams and strengthen revenue-generating activities to build stable cash flow and organisational reserves.

3. People

Foster a healthy, respectful, and welcoming team culture. Strengthen programs and services by partnering with trauma-informed practitioners and building a skilled, supported workforce.

4. Partnerships

Develop, maintain, and leverage strong professional relationships. Clearly define partnership roles and responsibilities to maximise shared resources and deliver collaborative outcomes for Olivia’s Place and the wider community.

6. Governance

Establish clear compliance and risk management standards to guide governance, decision-making, and best practice across the organisation.
