We prepare to welcome some new team members with our annual Volunteer Information Sessions. We also feature in the Warragul Gazette coverage for having received a $3000 Community Development Grant from the Baw Baw Shire for our parenting preparation program - Baby Steps: Parenting Matters - to launch this year.
We receive $10,000 from Trinity Families towards professional development training for our team and we have an Open Day celebrating the official opening of our centre at Barkly St, Warragul. At the Open Day, Member for Eastern Victoria Andrew Ronalds announces a commitment of $50,000 per year for 4 years government funding if the Liberal Government is successful at the forthcoming election.
The Warragul Business Group pledges financial support to assist us in bridging the budget gap to lease premises close to town, and provide a parenting room in place of the recently relocation of Family Children's Services away from the centre of town. They encourage other businesses to do the same, and the Warragul Gazette announces their intention to donate the same amount towards our cause. Warragul Gazette coverage 5.8.14
With the soon to occur relocation of Family & Children's Services to Normanby St, and with it the town's parent room facilities, locals are starting to identify Olivia's Place as a possibility to fill the void. We determine that the need is indeed there, and commence a search for rental premises near to the town centre.
We put a call out to local businesses to sponsor our outdoor event parent room (baby change and feeding facilities) so that we're able to purchase our own equipment to continue to provide the service to local families on an ongoing basis. Trader coverage 10.4.14 Page 3
We launch our sustainability fundraiser, the 'Project 500', seeking 500 supporters to commit to donation $200 a year over 3 years. Local MP Gary Blackwood signs up at the launch event. Warragul Gazette coverage 5.11.13 and 19.11.13
