Olivia's Place is governed locally by a Board of Directors consisting of passionate, dedicated men and women with valuable professional backgrounds as well as personal experience as parents and grandparents.
Kylie Sharp (President)
BSc(Psych), BN, GradDipNursing(CriticalCare)
Kylie has worked as a registered Nurse for the last 15 years and has completed a post graduate certificate in Critical Care Nursing. In addition to this, Kylie has worked for the Department of Human Services within the Gippsland Region. Her experiences include client case management, providing health care to the community, leading small teams, grant applications as well as extensive procedural documentation. As the parent of 3 young children Kylie has involved herself in her child's Kinder Committee, rolling out a health promotion initiative. Kylie is excited to be a part of the Olivia's Place Committee and supporting its vision.
Jacinta Saxton (Vice President)
Jacinta and her husband John returned to his home town of Yarragon in 2010 and have since had two young boys. Jacinta was drawn to the work of Olivia's Place following her own experience with young children in a new community and started as a volunteer in material aid and grants in 2018 prior to joining the Board of Directors. Jacinta has a background in communications, community engagement and governance, having worked previously in both the public and private sectors. She currently is pursuing her own business passion and completing her Masters of Business Administration whilst raising her children. She enjoys being part of the community by being actively involved in organisations like Olivia's Place and community groups like the Yarragon Playgroup.
Andrew Miklosvary (Treasurer)
BCom, ICAA GradDipCA
Andrew and his family moved from Melbourne to Gippsland 7 years ago and instantly fell in love with the diverse community and beautiful surrounds. As a Chartered Accountant, Andrew is passionate about business and the role enterprise plays in the region. He is a devoted father to his two gorgeous girls, Lucy and Winnie and strongly supports the efforts of Olivia’s Place in providing families of all diversities and backgrounds a helping start to parenthood.
Kirsten Finger (Secretary, Co-Founder, General Manager of Operations)
BN, GradDipNursing(Emergency), DAPS
Kirsten is one of the co-founders of Olivia's Place and continues to be involved, overseeing the Centre and the team. Kirsten is a Registered Nurse with qualifications specialising in Emergency and Intensive Care Nursing. She is also a qualified ALS Paramedic, currently employed with Ambulance Victoria, working locally in Warragul. Kirsten, her husband Julian and their 4 children Liam, Zoe, Joshua and Nate are all actively involved in many aspects of our community having lived in Drouin since 2010.
CJ Rovers (General Board Director)
CJ is passionate about supporting families through their pregnancy and early parenting journey with a holistic and compassionate approach. She grew up in West Gippsland, then moved to Melbourne and began to study nursing. After feeling a pull to focus on the social and emotional aspects of caring, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at ACU in 2012. CJ is also currently studying a Master of Counselling. Having two children of her own and personal experience with postnatal depression, CJ recognises the great need for accessible support for those facing parenting challenges. She aspires to increase her capacity to offer this support both educationally and experientially. CJ joined the Olivia’s Place team soon after the birth of her second child. Holistic assessment and family support program delivery are part of CJ’s role as Family Support Worker with Olivia's Place. She currently works face to face with clients, identifying their needs and assisting them to make their own best decisions to reach their personal and parenting best.
Paul Fallon (General Board Director)
Paul grew up on a farm in country Gippsland and although he has worked in financial and management roles over 15+ years in Melbourne, along with global offices and locations, when it came to deciding where to raise a family with his wife Renee (Fundraising Co-ordinator for Olivia's Place) it made perfect sense for that to be in the local area. A loving father to two beautiful young children in Paige and Oliver, he takes every opportunity he can to be involved in their activities and schooling. Paul enjoys being involved in the local community and welcomes the opportunity to be able give back to and support such an important organisation as Olivia's Place.
Robyn Bayley (General Board Director)
DipT (Early Childhood)
Robyn is a mother of 3 adult children. She lives and helps run a farm with her husband and son in the Trafalgar area. With 40 years of experience, Robyn has extensive experience in the area of early childhood and has worked as a kindergarten teacher. She has volunteered in the Warragul and Latrobe Valley region for 8 years. Robyn’s professional experience has involved the education of young children and adults, early intervention and family support. She became a volunteer at Olivia’s Place early 2015 and enjoys being part of such a professional, vibrant group of people passionate about supporting families of young children.
Julian Finger (General Board Director)
BN, MNursing(Emergency), MAdvNursing(NursPract)
Julian grew up in the Drouin area and has worked as a Registered Nurse at West Gippsland Hospital Emergency Department since 2011. He is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner and has advanced qualifications specialising in emergency and intensive nursing care, having completed two Master’s Degrees and working several years at Monash Clayton. He is married to Kirsten, and is a very dedicated and involved father to their four children – Liam, Zoe, Joshua and Nate. He is very passionate about seeing supports in place for dads in our community, and recognises the value and importance of the role of a dad to his children.
